The Center for Creative Intent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was founded in 2001. We offer public ceremony, spirit-based wilderness retreats, hermitage and artist-in-wilderness programs, earth-based ministerial training and spiritual counseling.

Our Warrior Heart Ranch, outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico, holds space and education for community leaders and artists to retreat, learn, and grow their capacity both for weathering the oncoming storms and leading their communities through the transitions and contradictions we all face.

NATURE-BASED WISDOM

We honor the cycles and seasons, with emphasis on stillness, intuition, direct revelation and the power of darkness, incubation, and connecting to the Mystery. We are founded in the teachings of The Four Agreements and honor all spiritual traditions.

WARRIOR HEART RANCH

Our 180-acre retreat center outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. We offer wilderness retreats, leadership training, and are currently regenerating soil and forest after the 2022 wildfire. For 2023 our focus is on raising funds for seeds and trees.

MINISTERIAL TRAINING

Would you become a pilgrim on the road of love? The first condition is that you make yourself humble as dust and ashes. ~ Rumi. An advanced training for current students of HeatherAsh. By application only.

Reconnecting to our Wild Spirit

Warrior Heart Ranch is a community-created sacred space for healing, spiritual connection, and weaving ourselves back into relationship with the land, waters, wind, animals, birds, and ancestors.

Starting in 2020, dozens of volunteers over two years helped build our adobe kitchen, literally brick by brick. After tearing down the old adobe walls of a previous structure, together we created 400 adobe bricks. Each brick was blessed with a word carved into the wet mud. We were blessed that this structure, and a small area of forest around it, was saved by firefighters during the largest wildfire in New Mexico history in Spring 2022. Unfortunately much of our forest was destroyed by the fire.

Thanks to a huge outpouring of donations and love we continue to steward the land and follow the original vision of creating an off-grid wilderness retreat and hermitage. We now are also working with ecologists, artists, indigenous women, and soil experts to regenerate the soil, build berms for erosion control, and plant seeds and trees.

This year we erected our 30-foot teaching yurt (which we managed to evacuate before the fire), and have created a 3-year plan for moving forward with building and restoration.

Our founder and Excutive Director

Best-selling author, mentor, land steward, and minister, HeatherAsh Amara has spent the last three decades weaving together earth-based wisdom, mindfulness, and practical strategies for creative, courageous, and compassionate individual and community change. She is the author of 9 books, including the bestselling Warrior Goddess Training series and The Seven Secrets of Happy and Healthy Relationships with don Miguel Ruiz Jr.

As a master firewalk instructor and President of the Global Firewalking Association, the irony is not lost on HeatherAsh that when she found herself right on the frontlines of the destruction of climate change, it came in the form of fire. On April 6, 2022, her life was dramatically altered when what was supposed to be a controlled burn by the US Forest Service turned into a raging wildfire that decimated 341,000 acres and 9000 buildings, including her own ranch. As she sat with her grief, and sang apologies to the trees, she realized it was past time to take action in the ways she could by utilizing her voice and global reach for generating positive, impactful change in her community and around the world.

She began at home - with the people around her who had lost their homes and livelihood - by raising funds through her extensive network and donating supplies to those in need. Thus marked the birth of something new: The Center for Creative Intent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization she founded to offer space and education for community leaders to retreat, learn, and grow their capacity both for weathering the oncoming storms and leading their communities through the transitions and contradictions we all face.

Today HeatherAsh dedicates her time to having the hard conversations surrounding the most critical topics of stewardship, anti-racism, and of course, climate change. Her writing can be found on her Substack, Out of the Fire. When she’s home, HeatherAsh plants her feet in New Mexico but as a lifelong nomad, she spends most of her time traveling, teaching, doing ceremony, and writing in cafes around the world.

“Change is inevitable, but transformation is by conscious choice. While you do not always have control over how or when the changes will occur in your life, you can choose how you are in relation to those changes. When you step towards rather than ignore, fight, or resist change, you reclaim your personal freedom. You step onto a path of transformation, and move from being a victim of change to being a co-creator with change.”
